‘Tríptico 1974-77’, de Francis Bacon.

Francis Bacon (Dublín, 1909- Madrid, 1992) se mostró convencido de que “cuando muera, mis obras no valdrán nada. Seré olvidado”. El millar de marchantes y coleccionistas congregados en la puja de Londres por su obra, la última de los conocidos como “trípticos negros” pintados por el artista tras el suicidio de su compañero, George Dyer, contradice esa apreciación. Fue pintado entre mayo y junio de 1974
